Stars and Stripes

Happy Fourth of July all you Americans! I hope you are having a fun filled Independence Day! A day filled with laughter, BBQ's, stars and stripes outfits and FIREWORKS!

I personally am super excited about this years 4th since it's my first one since getting my citizenship that I am going to stay up late enough to watch fireworks and to actually enjoy some outdoor fun! Technically last year was my first 4th but I was super preggers and did not, I repeat, DID NOT want to play outside in the heat or stay up late to watch fireworks. This year is different, I'm all sorts of excited! In fact, I am so excited, I got myself a stars and stripes outfit. Check out my insta (@amy_m_hunt) at some point today to see my patriotism!

Thanks for stopping by and have a fantastical independence weekend!!!!

Feelin' 22

This past weekend was my 22nd birthday weekend and it sure was a blast! I just can't help but to brag about how spoiled I was all weekend long. We started the weekend off with a bang by leaving Idaho and going to Utah for the whole weekend. Then we had my parents watch the little man so that we could go on a much needed date. We had dinner at Tepanyaki, which is similar to Beni Hana's, except Beni's has much better fried rice. Then I blew out candles and ate delicious ice cream cake.

On Saturday, we spent the day fixing up our soon to be home in Utah. We will be moving there come September after we finish our internship in San Diego. We were able to frame the master bedroom and walk in closet! Now all there is left to do is, wiring, dry wall, texturing the wall, painting, wall papering, installing the kitchen and moving all our stuff down there. Thank goodness my dad is willing to help and get it all done while we are on our internship.

We finished off the weekend by hanging out with my family and watching movies. There is absolutely nothing like going out of town for a few days, even if it does involve a little work. Just as long as there is a lot of fun at the same time! How did you spend your weekend?

Oh, and here are some more cheesy photo's of Cameron and I for your viewing pleasure. Thanks for stopping by!

What To Do When Teething

Teething can be a difficult time in your life and your tiny humans. I know for us it most definitely has been hard. You see Liam is typically an angel child who is only cranky come bed time. But lately he has been a bit more demanding and whinny. Being the new parents we are, we were saying to each other, what has happened to our angel baby? Turns out he was and still is teething. It just took an actual tooth popping through his gums for us to get the picture. I just want to say, I'm sorry little man for not catching on sooner.

Since discovering that Liam B is teething we've been trying to figure out what to do during this difficult time. For our little family, we have learned that it is all in the art of distraction. Those distractions happen to be …

The movie theater arcade.

The park.

Eating delicious snackage.

Exploring the grass plane.

"Rough" housing with the parentals.

Plain ol' fresh air.

See his smiling face through out all those fun pictures? Yup, thats the art of distraction working its magic. Oh and lots and lots of cuddles get us through teething too. SO, what do you do to help your tiny human with teething?

Nap Time

Every day I have a little battle with myself. A battle of what I should do during nap time.

Should I:

A) Take a nap myself
B) Get showered and ready for the day
C) Clean our apartment
Or
D) All of the above

D never wins. Anyone who knows me knows that I move a little on the slow side. What can I say, I'm a day dreamer. Still, it's one of the options I battle with on a regular basis.

A almost always wins. I'm so sleep deprived I'm sure that if I don't take my naps I would die.

Which option would win for you?

Little Examiner

I am in love with how the world is all shiny and new for Liam B. How everything must be examined for an extended period of time. Just to make sure that he isn't missing out on something. Because heaven for bid he misses out on the bolt that keeps the wheel in place, how the wheel looks from the front compared to the side and even how the entire stroller balances on this magical wheel he has found.

His curiosity is a reminder to me that at one point the world was shiny and new to me and I too did not want to miss out on any small detail. That as the years have passed I have become complacent to my surroundings. Not marveling at the simplicity that keeps it all together. It makes me want to take a step back and really soak in my surroundings and try to be an examiner just like him. Not letting a single bolt pass me by.

(Sorry that the photos are blurry. It's hard to get a decent picture (especially with a camera phone) when someone is constantly on the move.)
